Maui No Ka Oi - Depart

We will be catching our mid-week flight home today (Wed, June 8). We have been on the island since Thursday June 2 and we had covered most of the sites that we wanted to visit.

Our Southwest Airlines flight departure time was not until 2:20 pm so we still had the morning to do some last minute exploration or more food exploration.

Our first stop was the Cinnamon Roll Place located just around the corner of our apartment which we had visited the day before. MM liked it so much so we had to come back.

Mango bread - we will have to try that next time

After picking up some last minute shopping items at the Aloha Open Air Marketplace, the traveling party finally left the apartment and headed to our next food stop - Tin Roof located in Kahului just a few minutes drive from the airport and Costco.

Tin Roof was opened by former Top Chef contestant Chef Sheldon Simeon. Located at a strip mall, the inconspicuous Tin Roof does take out only. We picked up a few signature items including the Mochico Chicken, Pork Belly, and the poke then headed to the Costco Food Truck Park to dine under the awning and pick up a few more food truck items from Like Poke and Thai Mee Up.

One last round of Ululani's before heading to the airport

After the lunch feast at the food truck park, we filled up the gas at Costco and headed home. We had developed a strong sense of connection with Maui after our week long visit. We hope to return in the future to complete a few more adventures such as the Pipiwai Trail and taste the fresh poke again.
