Back in April 2022, we found a pretty reasonable airfare (sub $300 pp) from Southwest Airline from LAX to Maui Kahului Airport (OGG) departing on 6/2 and returning on 6/8.
On June 2, 2022, which was the last day of school, we departed for LAX for our one week trip to the island of Maui.
Southwest flight 1076 would depart LAX 4:40 pm and arrive at OGG at 7:25 pm. We departed slightly behind schedule due to a mechanical issue but we did arrive pretty much on time. Perhaps one of the reasons this fare was lower was its late arrival time. Most US flights would depart earlier in the day and would arrive at OGG early afternoon.
Since we arrived late our food option was somewhat limited and so was our overall energy level. We picked up the rental car, grabbed a few items at 7-Eleven and at Target then headed straight to our Air B&B located at Kihei to end the night.
