Taiwan Trip Day 6 - Din Tai Fung Xinyi Road and Departure (Sunday, April 21th, 2019)

Today we will leave Taipei and depart for Los Angeles. We will meet Joanne's mother at original DingTaiFeng store on Xinyi Road for brunch. Din Tai Fung is within walking distance from our apartment on Ren-ai Rd. We walked south along Hangzhou South Rd towards Xinyi Rd. We walked through Donmen market again along the back alley of Xinyi Rd. There was a Sunday market and we bought some white wex apples for mm. We were able to get a table at DingTaiFeng without much waiting.

After brunch at DTF, we strolled around Young-Kung Street. The one time peaceful neighborhood has now turned into an international destination for foodies. We waited in line for the famous hand grabbed "bing" stall and got the original flavor for 25 NT (a bit less than $1).

After getting the street food on Yung-Kung Street, we visited the newly opened Ice Monster on Xinyi Rd for one more round of shave ice.

Saying good bye to Taipei, 11:48 am

After visiting the Yung-Kung St. neighborhood, we were meeting up with my parents at The Mayor's Residence Art Salon. The Mayor's Residence Art Salon was one time Taipei Mayor's former residence but it has now been turned into a cafe and an Art gallery. Along the walk to the Taipei's Mayor's Residence we walked by a Japanese colonial era bell tower and the CKS memorial to soak in old Taipei one last time.
