Iceland Day 4 - Glaciers and Icebergs (June 28, 2017)

We rested reasonably well last night with the shades drawn. We will continue to head east today and will be embarking on the Skaftafell Glacier Walk excursion organized by our tour company. We will also visit the Iceberg lagoon of Jokulsarlon. As usual, we'll be feasting on the hotel breakfast first. The Icelandair Hotels is not a "guesthouse" so we were mixed in with larger crowd of tourists. There was a large contingent of senior German group staying here so we were mixed in with bunch of German speaking senior citizens.

After spending a full day at the glacier, we were ready for our dinner. We located the locally well known lobster or langoustine restaurant - Humarhofnin located in the port town of Hofn. The lobsters and lamb are all locally sourced.

GG ready to dig in

After our great dinner we had to get dessert. We located the home made ice cream shop at Brunnholl guesthouse. It is a guesthouse with a restaurant and serves its home made ice cream in the area of Brunnholl. Brunnholl is a bit west of Hoffell where our guesthouse is located so that means a bit of back tracking on the drive. But the night is still young for us.
