London State of Mind - The British Museum (Friday November 29th, 2019)

Our original plan for this afternoon was to finish the tour of the Tower of London then head to a prearranged tea time at Fortnum & Mason at the Royal Exchange in the City of London. The plan was foiled because of the attack incident that afternoon that caused the entire central London to be in lock down. It also turned out that we made the reservation at the wrong Fortnum and Mason so even if we showed up at the proper time, we would have been greatly disappointed by our own doing. Instead we hunkered down at a Pret and weighed in our options.

We decided to have dinner around the old Spitafields market which is not a far walk from the City. After getting some warm food into our system, we headed west via the Tube to visit the LSE (London School of Economics) - a request from grandma. We then took the short walk from LSE to the British Museum. The museum itself is free to enter with donation so it saved us money and time to purchase any tickets. We entered the long serpentine cordon into the museum without any queue since it was past 7:00 pm (the museum closes late on Friday evening).

  1. Cool shots! How long did you guys spend in the museum, if you guys got there at 7pm? I always take forever at museums because I read just about every tag card available 🤓

    1. We did not spend very much time at the museum because it was late. But the good thing about getting there late was that there was no line to get in. We hit the highlights which was the Rosetta Stone and The Parthenon Gallery and that was worth it for us!
