Nepal Trip Day 11 - Kathmandu to Taipei through Guangzhao (Wednesday January 2, 2019)
We rested at Hotel Yak and Yeti for rest of the afternoon on Tuesday January 1. We were able to comfortably eat a buffet lunch, take a hot shower and re-pack our luggages. We said good bye to Mingma who came to pick us up around 8:30 pm. Our Nepal leg of our trip has come to an end. We were going to stay at least one more day for another city tour but we decided to see the kids' cousins in Taiwan. We may be back in the future, but for now, we will explore other places in the world.
We were dropped off at the International terminal. The entrance to the airport was quite chaotic. We found the right entrance and followed the line to get into the terminal. We checked in at the counter and got our passports. We ensured that our duffles were checked in to TPE and headed to the lounge. We rested at the lounge for a bit and headed through the security line. The security line is extremely busy but we were able to by pass the line due to our first class ticket. After security we got to the waiting room. When it was time to board, everyone rushed through the gate and attempted to board the plane. We finally got onto our plane around 11:00 am on 1/1. We were flying the A330. We will fly the A330 two more times from Guangzhao to Taipei and later from Taipei back to Guangzhao. The A330 felt a lot bigger than the A319 we took from Guangzhao to Kathmandu more than a week earlier.

After about 4 hours of bumpy ride, we arrived in Guangzhao at the crack of dawn.

we managed to talk our way into the lounge even though our next leg of the flight (Guangzhao to Taipei) is not first class. We enjoyed ourselves at the lounge during the transit and boarded our connecting flight to Taipei.

Nice full meal in economy class

After flying for less than 2 hours, we landed in Taipei. We were picked up by our transpiration and went to meet up rest of the family. That night, we had a nice meal at Ton 28 Japanese Cuisine located at the Bellavita, a high end shopping mall located at the Xinyi district of Taipei. We did laundry that night and crashed late into the night. We had been up for nearly 36 hours with only naps in between since we left Lukla the day before. Essentially, we had made it from Lukla, Nepal to Taipei, Taiwan in less than 24 hours.
