Nepal Trip Day 9 - Phakding to Lukla (Monday December 31, 2018)
We woke up and got to the dining area for breakfast before 7:00 am. The stove was already on and we were warming our hands. Porridge was added to our breakfast menu today which was quite tasty. We asked the lodge staff if we could tour the kitchen, and we were greeted with welcome. We were on our way to our last lodge at Lukla shortly after 8:00 am.

We arrived at Lukla after about three and half hours of hiking. We were greeted with Coconut Crunchees and tea. We sat outside for our lunch and relaxed at the lodge for rest of the afternoon. There was no one else in the lodge except for us.
Mingma gathered the trekking crew shortly before dinner at the lobby for a tea and khata ceremony. We chatted about our trek and we gave our trekking crew the gratuity.
We took dinner at the Tibetan style decorated dining room. It was chicken served on iron skillet. The chef had lit a fire on the dish before the dish was served. It was quite a showcase.

Our trekking distance today was modest at 4.5 miles. We were able to take a hot shower before dinner and went to sleep shortly after dinner. We spent the last day of 2018 in Lukla with only ourselves in the lodge.
